Vaginal Steaming is an ancient practice our ancestors used to maintain great vaginal health. Back then, they would light dry herbs and stand or sit over the smoke. This infused smoke would heal the womb in miraculous ways, maintaining the health of the vagina and reproductive system. Traditionally, we use hot water and herbs.

Here at Lotus Holistic Apothecary, we believe that each individual is different. Therefore, each one of us requires a different steam blend. Very seldom, you'd find 10 persons with the EXACT same period or symptoms due to conditions. Some conditions require different herbs as well as heat temperatures, while some conditions are contraindications to vaginal steaming. This is why before having a steam done or before purchasing a steam, you MUST fill a consultation form. This form gathers your information, and helps your practitioner to best serve you.

We are all unique in our own way, which is why we've created a step by step system before you can receive a steam blend. 

How Our Steam System Works

All steam blends are mixed according to you the individual and the symptoms you are experiencing. Before the blend is mixed, a consultation form MUST be filled and your blend will be mixed according to the information within your form. We ask that you fill the form as accurate as possible, as misinformation can lead to an incorrect blend, which may cause harm to your reproductive system. After receiving your recommendation email, you can respond and let us know if to proceed with your blend by coming back to the website and making your purchase. Once the payment is received, your customized blend will be available for collection after 24 hours or by our following delivery date if you are having delivery. 

We ask that you be consistent, patient and follow your recommended steam plan to accomplish the maximum results. Remember, the uterus is a stress/emotion magnet. Stress disturbs the uterus function, try to remain super relaxed when healing.

 

FAQs

Question : Can I have sex while detoxing?

• Absolutely NOT! 
• When detoxing, there's a high possibility that toxins are in the canal. Therefore once penetrated, toxins may pass to your sexual partner, which may pass back to you after your detox. This will put you right back to square one.

 

Question : Can I breast feed while vaginal steaming?

• Yes. As our blends are mild yet effective, breastfeeding is ohk.

 

Question : Can I detox while pregnant?

• No. As much as this detox increases fertility, it can cause miscarriage. 

 

Question : Can I detox while on my period?

• No. As the uterine arteries are open, the cleansing herbs in your blend or the heat from this detox will increase circulation which will increase a flow.

 

Question : Can I detox while I have an IUD inserted?

• Yes.

 

Question : Will the steam burn?

• No. If it feels too hot turn the heat down if using added heat [a boiler] or let it cool a tad more before sitting/kneeling over it if using boiled water.

 

Question : Is it possible for the steam to make my infection worst?

• No. A detox can not make what you're detoxing out worst. What's actually happening, the bacteria or yeast settled too long within the vaginal area, causing the area to be supper itchy. In this case, practicing great hygiene is very important. Constantly changing breathable liners, wiping your vaginal area etc, keeping the vaginal area as clean and dry as possible preventing irritations.

 

Question : What will my results look like?

• We never know. Everyone is different, therefore all results will vary.

 

Question : Nothing passed out for my detox, is that normal?

• Yes! What's within to pass out, will pass out. 

 

Question : Can I use a bucket or place my steam bowl in the toilet?

• Absolutely NOT!
• Plastic and the toilet host bacteria. Therefore, when heat is introduced, it may release into your vaginal steam which may also be infused and transferred to your vagina. This can result in bacteria overgrowth.
